CHARLES ROD HEMBREE is the founding pastor of Good Friends Fellowship in Ontario, Canada. May we listen to the LORD, and focus on the people who need to know Him! Rod Hembree, Th.D, DE. Knowing God s Word and praying for Jerusalem and the world are so important right now. And today we need to pray! As we read the prophets and listen to what the LORD tells us, let s learn the discipline of praying for Jerusalem and the world. Psalm 122:6 commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Israel became a nation again in May of At 71 years old, Israel continues to grow stronger and is now a superpower in the Middle East. Israel means, have strived with God and men, and have not fallen. We live in a very unique time for Christian history and prophecy we share the planet with the nation of Israel, a nation named by God. These two men could not have been farther apart, yet both men were called by God as prophets to hear, communicate and reveal the Word to His people (and that includes us!). Isaiah was known as a royal prophet, while Jeremiah learned and understood what God spoke through his suffering. God doesn t tell us everything we want to know, but He does give us answers as we seek His direction in our life for changes and decisions that deeply affect us. But the reality of learning God s Word is that we all become skilled in our own way at listening to the LORD, to hearing what He speaks to us in our life and for our future. I will say, as a Jehovah's Witness I really expected to be even more disappointed with the portrayal of Jesus, I didn't expect God's name to be used since it may offend some or confuse even more but a few lines not from the Bible got me but that in itself did is not a problem, only implying Jesus as God without Biblical support. I do recommend it as a start before reading or to those who know the Bible. Though, you can always start with this show for a start. If you have not read the Bible read Luke then read Acts. The show portrayed things in a very good way, aside from a few things with Jesus and after Jesus. ![]() ![]() I do hope it opens up people to reading the Bible and to their God. Aside from that little fact, the show was great. But, the nail in the hand instead of wrist is still happening even knowing the truth behind it. Many believe it was a cross (though it was a stake if you do the research into it) and since it is a minor matter and to be expected that should be no matter here. Now, the only complaint I would have is the actual crucification of Jesus. This is to be expected seeing as it is a mini-series rather than a gigantic series. (Joke.) But, I must say this was very well done aside from a few inaccuracies. ![]() Being about the Bible, I don't want to spoil the end. ![]()
